If you have painful, white lesions inside your mouth, then most probably you have what is called mouth ulcers or canker sores
Mouth ulcers can happen due to mechanical injury, damage when brushing and stress which causes a reduced immune response. In specific cases mouth ulcers occur as a reaction certain drugs such as chemotherapeutic drugs. Whenever I asked my Doctor or other health professionals about why I was getting recurrent ulcers when I was a healthy individual, I was told that the cause is unknown.
Mouth ulcers can also be caused by deficiencies in various nutrients. A deficiency of iron or folic acid can cause an ulcer to develop in the mouth.
Although relatively harmless, mouth ulcers can be a real pain in the neck each time they’re around. These are sores that appear in the mouth, usually on the inside of the cheeks and lips.
